Bishop John W.O. Jackson is a minister/teacher. He is, what some would believe is, a dichotomy, - a senior pastor and a qualified scientist! He has worked as an analytical and research chemist as well as a radiographer and NMR/MRI specialist. Until his appointment to the Church in Leicester, he was the Head of Science in a popular secondary school in Wolverhampton.
Born in 1968 to Bishop L.A. and Daphne Jackson, Bishop John Jackson has been a member of the New Testament Church of God since the age of 9. He was baptised in the NTCG Dudley, having surrendered his life to The Lord at the age of 8. Since that time, he has served the church in a number of capacities. At the age of 13 he was teaching Sunday School, by 16 he was the Local Young Men's Fellowship President. He later went on to serve as Sunday School Superintendent and held a position on the Church and Pastor's Council.
A keen student, Bishop Jackson studied Chemistry at Hertfordshire University where he met his wife Alison, before going on to gain a master’s degree in physics at Brunel University. In 1994 John and Alison were married and have since been blessed with three wonderful children, Madison, Shashamani and Rae-Kwan.
In that year the couple returned to the Midlands where Bishop Jackson took up the role of Local Youth Director as well as becoming Choir Director of the Dudley District Gospel Choir, a position he served in for 15 years.
In 1996 Bishop Jackson was asked to take on the role of District Youth Director where he served for 11 years which saw a period of sustained growth for the youth on the district. At the same time Bishop Jackson began his career as a Science Teacher, a role he successfully balanced with the demands of church ministry.
During this period, the call to ministry became clear and even though Bishop Jackson resisted for quite a while, in 2007 he became a credentialed minister in the Church of God. In 2008 he was obedient and responded to the call and began the exciting journey to pastor the Muntz Street Church in Birmingham. Having completed C.A.M.S and the CMDP at the Leadership Training centre, Bishop Jackson became an Ordained Bishop of the Church of God in 2018.

During his tenure he has put forward 5 men and women who have been released into ministry.
Bishop Jackson’s dominant ministerial giftings lie in the realm of Pastor/Teacher and as such it allows him to combine his bi-vocational roles. He has always demonstrated a strong focus on engaging and challenging young people to find their place and position in Christ and to engage with the opportunities around them. He is quoted as saying ‘Young people need to be excited about Christ and Church, because they become the best ambassadors to their generation.’

As a pastor Bishop Jackson is very passionate about The Word of God and this has led him to be invited to deliver The Word nationally and internationally. He has been honoured to share God's message in Europe, Africa and the Caribbean teaching and preaching The Gospel.
Being a gifted teacher, and a passionate preacher with a heart for people he has been blessed to see his local church grow and thrive under his stewardship.
Bishop Jackson believes that church is at its best when it is delivered through the 3 W's: The Word, The Worship and The Welcome

Through this, he has witnessed the development and involvement of the youth and the wider church both locally and nationally. Bishop Jackson is proud of the community outreach effort that has taken place e.g. Seniors Club, ESOL classes as well as the work with the Pakistani and Muslim community in Birmingham.

In 2017 he was awarded the Birmingham Peace Award for his work in fostering relationships with the Muslim Community in Birmingham which has resulted in The Pakistan Ambassador to the UK attending a Service at Muntz Street. However, he believes that there is more to be achieved and that through working together the best is yet to come!
Bishop Jackson and his wife Alison who have shared 30 years together have been blessed to lead Marriage and Relationship seminars at a local and National Level. As a strong team they are actively engaged in pre-marital counselling for intending couples.
Bishop Jackson first of all, gives thanks to Almighty God for His favour towards him. He would also like to thank his family, in particular his wife Alison for being his support and confidante on this incredible journey.
He would also like to thank the great Generals in the Church of God who have supported his development, notably Dr. Issachar Lewinson, Dr. Clinton Ryan and last but not least Dr. Lorenzo Jackson.
